Everyone must choose who is in control of their life. Is it the Lord or your flesh, pride or ego? In order for God to be Lord of your life, you must choose to take your ego off the throne. A life of significance, meaning and joy begins when you realize that it's not about you, we or us. We must realize, as Moses did at the Burning Bush, that God is the great "I Am" and we "are not." May we all humble ourselves and allow God to really be Lord and be in control of our lives.

As the world grows darker and God works to prepare the Body of Christ for the return of the Lord, we must be a people who are preparing ourselves for the days ahead. This is not a time for worry or despair. We should be the most positive people on the planet. As you follow the Lord with all your heart, you will find yourself answering three important questions. Your answers to these questions will determine if you will become a person of ever increasing significance and influence for the purposes of God in the days ahead.

Because the Apostle Paul had a revelation of what it actually meant to know Jesus, he gladly gave up everything that would prevent him from knowing the Lord deeply and intimately and fulfilling God’s purposes for his life. He writes in Philippians 3:7-8, “…whatever things were gain to me, these have I counted loss for Christ. Yea verily, and I count all things to be loss for the excellency of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but refuse, that I may gain HIM.” Paul learned from the “Professor of Pain,” that all of his suffering was “momentary and light” in comparison to the “eternal weight of glory” he would receive (2Cor. 4:17).

As the words of the old hymn state, “Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.” This series focuses on the importance and the power of Obedience. Many think that obedience is bondage, but the exact opposite is true. The Holy Spirit empowers us and frees us to obey the Lord, and this obedience gives us greater personal freedom and authority. As we learn how to be obedient, we experience the power of this freedom as we walk through the trials and tests of life. Obedience is key to bearing fruit as a disciple and a pathway of blessings for your life.
